The San Diego Gulls are back at Pechanga Arena tonight, ready to face off against the Toronto Marlies once again at Bill Walton Legacy Night (7 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

On Wednesday, San Diego hosted Toronto for the first time andfell short 5-3. Although the contest didn’t go their way, it was an impressive night for the Gulls. The Gulls scored three power play goals, including the first in a San Diego sweater for Justin Bailey, and goaltender Calle Clang did it all with 31 saves and an assist.

The Gulls are taking these positives from Wednesday’s contestand are planning to use them to their benefit.

"We didn't get to our game right away, and Toronto, credit to them, came out of the gate flying," said Pastujov. "But I think we adjusted as the game went on, and gave it a good effort. [It was a] super-fast paced game and a lot of skill."

"It’s one final push before the guys get a chance to rest," said assistant coach Kris Sparre. "Toronto is a fast veteran team that makes you better. [Wednesday] kind of overwhelmed us early in the game. But you know we'll be ready for it [tonight]. And, you know, the challenge is response. We lose one we don't want to lose two in a row. We did a good job of that in Calgary, dropping the first one and responding and we'll look to do the same again."

San Diego takes one more crack at Toronto tonight before their matchup against Coachella Valley, where they will challenge the Firebirds on February 7th at Pechanga Arena (7 pm PST).
