The San Diego Gulls fell to the Henderson Silver Knights 3-2 in a shootout tonight at Dollar Loan Center in Henderson.

SECOND PERIOD RECAP

Daniil Miromanov put the Silver Knights ahead just 57 seconds into the period, sending a shot through a net-front screen and past Lukas Dostal for his 11th goal of the season.

Alex Limoges tied the game on the power play with 1:19 left in the period.

The Gulls moved the puck around the zone, with Nikolas Brouillard feeding Lucas Elvenes for a one-timed pass to the front of the net. The Swedish center found an open Limoges, who tipped the puck past Jiri Patera for his 22nd goal of the season.

The tally is also his 12th power-play goal of the season, moving Limoges past Sam Carrick and Corey Tropp for the most in a single season in San Diego's American Hockey League history. The former Penn State captain also picked up his 10th point (6-4=10) against the Silver Knights.

Elvenes - claimed off waivers from the Vegas Golden Knights by the Anaheim Ducks earlier this season - has points in six of seven games (1-5=6) against his old team.

First Period Recap

Pavel Dorofeyev opened the game, scoring his 27th goal of the season at 7:08 of the first frame.

Reid Duke flipped a puck from his blue line into the San Diego end, where Dorofeyev gloved it down and onto the blade of his stick. With room in front, Henderson's leading scorer scooted down the wing and beat Dostal on the short side.

Hunter Drew tied the game just over a minute later.

Bryce Kindopp won an offensive zone faceoff, with Drew deftly moving the puck around a Brendan Brisson check. Alone in the slot, the forward ripped a shot by Patera for his 17th goal of the season.

Greg Pateryn kept the game tied with an incredible defensive play, sweeping a Ben Jones chance away from the goal line with 8:23 left in the first. The Gulls captain used the backhand to swat a bouncing puck away after Jones crashed the net, sending a shot by Dostal and dangerously close to the open cage.
