The Gulls are heading east to Colorado to take on the Eagles tonight at Blue Arena (6:05 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
Tonight’s contest is the first time this season these two teams will play against each other. Tonight also marks the first of a four-game series. The Gulls are 15-17-1-0 all-time against Colorado, including a 5-10-0-1 record on the road.
San Diego took two losses against the Roadrunners earlier this week, but the Gulls are leaving Tucson with some small wins under their belt.
Sasha Pastujov scored his fourth goal of the season in Wednesday’s game, along with Jan Mysak tallying his fourth assist of the season, and Tyson Hinds earning his second.
"There’s a lot to learn," said Dillon Heatherington. "We can take our work ethic [with us]... We’re just trying to get better each day."
Although these were not the results the team desired, they are heading to Colorado ready to put up another good fight.
"We've been challenged," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "Now we know how we respond. We got a lot of respect for Colorado. We know what that building's like to play in, it's a whole lot of fun. So we'll respond."
