San Diego to Challenge Coachella on the Road

The San Diego Gulls will meet the Coachella Valley Firebirds tonight at Acrisure Arena (7 p.m. PT; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
Tonight’s game is the second time this season that the Gulls and Firebirds have duked it out on the ice. Coachella reigned victorious in their last contest, beating the Gulls 6-5 in San Diego’s home opener on October 18.
San Diego’s last game against the Calgary Wranglers saw the Gulls fall short 4-3. Although San Diego scored first and was able to take the lead in the first period, the Wranglers quickly caught up.
"I think we created a lot of chances [to score]," left wing Pavol Regenda said. "It was a good game, up and down…they scored more than us, and they win the game."
Come Saturday night, the Gulls will play six out of their next seven games at home. San Diego has spent 22 of the first 36 days of the season traveling and playing on the road. They are tied with the Cleveland Monsters as having the most road games played in the AHL this season (10).
The Gulls return home tomorrow night to face off against their SoCal rivals, the Ontario Reign, at Pechanga Arena (6 pm PST).
