The San Diego Gulls wrap up their quick two-game road trip in Coachella Valley tonight, where they will battle the Firebirds at 5 p.m. PST (TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

Friday night saw a loss for the Gulls against the Ontario Reign, 4-1. Goaltender Oscar Dansk stopped 29 shots in Friday’s game, including all 16 faced in the first period.

"He’s been getting better and better, that's for sure," head coach Matt McIlvane said after Friday’s loss. "Tonight, I felt like we gave up big chances from turnovers and big chances from their speed that we weren't able to contain. But he battled for us."

San Diego will look to get back in the win column on the road tonight. The Gulls have dropped five straight road contests and getting back to basics will be their main focus against the Firebirds.

"Getting pucks and bodies to the net, that's a cliche in our sport for a reason," McIlvane said. "I think as much of that as we can get."

The Gulls fly home this Wednesday to meet with the Iowa Wild for the first time at Pechanga Arena (7 pm PST).
