The San Diego Gulls are hitting the ice one last time for the 2024-25 season, this time against the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Last night, the Gulls challenged the Ontario Reign on the road. Ultimately, they fell 2-1.
As the team heads into their last matchup of the season, the team is ready to show up for each other and the fans one last time.
"They've showed up for us all year long," said Ryan Carpenter. "So let's play for them, play for each other, the 20 guys on the ice and the coaching staff. I feel like we've grown together to be a tight knit group. I think that was part of the reason that that push started to happen the last 30 games. We should give them something to be proud about, something to end on a high note and go into the summer feeling a little better."
While the season didn’t end in a postseason berth, Pechanga Arena will still be rocking with a sell-out crowd. The team will feed that energy and leave it all on the ice before the season wraps up.
"All in effort," added head coach Matt McIlvane. "We have a proud group with a lot of character and I'm looking forward to showing that off one more time."
These two teams take the ice at 6 p.m. PDT tonight to close out the 2024-25 season.
