The San Diego Gulls kept the good times rolling tonight with another victory, this time against the Calgary Wranglers 3-1.

Last night, the Gulls wowed their fans with a crucial win against the Tucson Roadrunners 5-1 to stay afloat in the Pacific Division playoff race.

The first goal was scored by Calgary towards the end of the first period. San Diego made it even in the second with a goal from Nico Myatovic, assisted by Dillon Heatherington and Justin Bailey

Stian Solberg put the Gulls in the lead with his first career AHL goal, which proved to be the game-winner.

"Stian was settled before he even got here," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "I think this kid's so calm and cool, but what a wonderful shot. That was a rocket. We had great net front presence on it, and big congrats to him and Lindmark on first goal, first pro point for Lindmark."

San Diego stayed hot with a power play goal from Roland McKeown, assisted by Jan Mysak and Myatovic. Leading 3-1, the Gulls held their own throughout the rest of regulation time.

Tonight’s win was also goaltender Ville Husso’s sixth straight. Stopping all but one of the 21 shots on goal, his stellar performance keeps this team’s momentum going.

"I know it was a good weekend for us, overall," said Husso. "Tough game last night, less than 24 hours play again…I don't think they had too many shots, and guys were blocking shots and doing all the little things that as a winning team you want to do."

America’s Finest Fans showed up for their team, a crowd of over 10,00 people, to cheer on their Gulls and celebrate Mexican Heritage Night presented by Cal Coast Credit Union.

"It's a really nice arena and a really nice crowd," said Solberg. "It was a lot of fun. And everybody here appreciates that. Everybody comes and watches us play. It was a lot of fun."

The Gulls return to Pechanga Arena on Wednesday evening to face off against the Abbottsford Canucks (7 p.m. PDT).
