The San Diego Gulls continued their winning streak tonight and are victorious for the fifth game in a row after defeating the Bakersfield Condors 4-1.

It was another exemplary evening for Oscar Dansk, who stopped 36 out of 37 total shots. He has backstopped the Gulls during their five-game streak and holds a 2.00 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in that span.

On Wednesday, San Diego put on an impressive show of grit and skill, defeating the Abbotsford Canucks 5-3. A record-setting night, the team has clearly shown fans and opposition alike that they’re resilient and here to stay.

Tonight, they did it all over again.

"It was a fight, that's for sure," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "We're hunting results at the moment, and we'll certainly take that.

"There was a lot of ingredients to winning hockey."

After a scoreless opening frame, Yegor Sidorov scored the first goal of the game towards the end of the second. Bakersfield made it even quickly after.

Roland McKeown put the Gulls back in the lead with his tenth goal of the season, assisted by Tristan Luneau

To close out the game, Dillon Heatherington and Ryan Carpenter each scored on the empty net, sealing the team’s win 4-1. Heatherington’s goal was his first scored as a Gull.

"It was a great feeling," said Heatherington. "And then, to put the icing on the cake, first as a Gull, it was good feeling."

The Gulls will relish in this win until it’s time to hit the ice again tomorrow night.

"It sounds cliche, but, sticking to what we've done, really, that's the tough part," said Dansk. "When you're not having success, it's just grinding and grinding until you have it. But when you have success,  there's no time to be complacent. You have to approach it with humility and just accept the work that is. Go rest now and get ready to work."

The Gulls return tomorrow night to challenge the Condors before heading home on Wednesday to host the Calgary Wranglers (7 p.m. PST).
