The San Diego Gulls are eager to take on the Bakersfield Condors for the second time this weekend tonight (7 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
Last night, the Gulls were victorious 3-1. This is the longest winning streak San Diego has seen since 2021.
Although this success for San Diego is well-deserved, they’re not ready to quit the hard work yet.
"You just want to be great all the time, and you can't be great all the time if you don't start great," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "So certainly, we can have a focus for the start of the game that we can push the tempo a little bit better. The discipline of the push is that you have to take it one game at a time and, as cliche as that is, is actually how we have to live our lives, so we'll enjoy the win for moments, there's plenty to learn, and we'll be excited to compete again tomorrow."
San Diego is ready to fight their way through the rest of the season until they can get to the prize: playoffs.
"Our backs are against the wall," said Dillon Heatherington. "We don't have much room for error the way that we started the season. So, we're just looking to continue the push, continue our efforts each and every game, right till the end."
This week, the Gulls return home to face the Calgary Wranglers at Pechanga Arena (7 pm PST).
