Gulls to Battle It Out Against Bakersfield

The San Diego Gulls are ready to take on the Bakersfield Condors for the third time this season, tonight at Pechanga Arena (6 pm PST).
After their victory against the Ontario Reign last night in a nail-biting shootout, the Gulls are ready to keep their successes going.
"Our team has shown multiple times this season that being able to come back from behind is not a problem, and including some really big deficits," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "So, it was one of these games. It was a strange game all the way around, all the power plays, all the penalty kills…but to be able to show some resiliency and play to our identity, I think we did that really well."
It was a big night for the Gulls, with Ryan Carpenter having his second multi-goal game of the season, Pavol Regenda netting his fourth of the season, and Yegor Sidorov getting the game-winner after four rounds of a shootout.
"Everybody here wants to play [in the] playoffs," said Regenda. "We still have a lot growing to do, 50 games left [this season]. I feel like we had a really big improvement from the start of the season. We want to keep playing longer than last year. That's the goal, and that's what we're fighting for."
The Gulls take on the Condors tonight before they continue their home game streak against the San Jose Barracuda on New Year’s Day (7 pm PST).
