The San Diego Gulls stayed hot with their fourth consecutive win tonight, taking down the Abbotsford Canucks 5-3 Wednesday night at Pechanga Arena San Diego.

In the opening frame, San Diego scored first with a goal from Coulson Pitre, assisted by Ryan Carpenter and Tyson Hinds.

The Gulls managed to hold the lead until the end of the second, when the Canucks tied it up.

Pitre opened the third period with his second goal of the game, his first ever multi-goal game of his AHL career.

"Coulson's a bit of a Swiss Army knife. He can play wing, he can play center, he can play up and down your lineup," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "And I don't think you can ask much more than two goals and an assist from Coulson. So good on him. Really pleased with him, and excited that he was able to have such a big night."

Pitre’s second goal was assisted by Hinds and Oscar Dansk.  This point from Dansk marks the first time in team history that multiple goaltenders have tallied multiple points throughout the season, and in consecutive contests. Calle Clang tallied two assists in back-to-back games in January.

Sam Colangelo followed suit, bringing the score back up to 3-1 with his nineteenth goal of the season. Carpenter, along with Justin Bailey, assisted Colangelo, making this the third game in a row in which Carpenter has tallied multiple assists.

With less than ten minutes left on the clock, Abbotsford tied it up at 3-3. Luckily, Tristan Luneau scored his sixth of the season, taking back the lead.

Nikita Nesterenko packaged the win nicely with a fifth goal on the empty net, with about a minute of play remaining.

"I mean, it's a great feeling, like all the boys are coming together," said Pitre. "The vibes are high, and I think moving forward, we'll keep doing it."

The Gulls are back on the road this weekend, where they will play off against the Bakersfield Condors in consecutive games this Friday and Saturday (7 p.m. PST).
