The San Diego Gulls continue to show their fans what resilience looks like, defeating Abbotsford Canucks 4-1 in the second night of back-to-back contests.

Last night, Abbotsford took the win. Tonight, the Gulls decided it was their turn, earning two points in their split against the Canucks.

Sasha Pastujov kicked off the scoring for San Diego, netting his 13th goal and 32nd point of the season. The Canucks caught up immediately after, tying the game before the end of the first period.

Just minutes into the second frame, Pastujov recorded his third multi-goal game of the season when he put San Diego back in the lead 2-1. Pastujov continues to lead Gulls skaters in scoring (13-19=32).

San Diego finally took a two-goal lead at the end of the game with the third goal coming from Judd Caulfield. Nathan Gaucher also scored on the empty net with only a few minutes left on the clock to ice the victory.

It was an exceptionally impressive night for goaltender Oscar Dansk, who only allowed one goal on 34 shots in one of his most impressive performances yet. The solid start is a welcome sight for the Gulls, as Calle Clang exited Tuesday’s contest due to injury.

The Gulls return to the States to wrap up their road trip against the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Saturday night before they return home on Sunday for Star Wars Night.
