The San Diego Gulls played an exhilarating 60 minutes of hockey tonight, but ultimately couldn’t get it done against the Abbotsford Canucks, falling 6-3.

Last weekend, San Diego downed both the Tucson Roadrunners and Calgary Wranglers. With just a few games left in the season, the Gulls are determined to keep their performance at a high.

Abbotsford kicked off the scoring, but Stian Solberg wasn’t too far behind with his second goal of the season, assisted by Ian Moore and Carsen Twarynski

San Diego was in the lead shortly thereafter, courtesy of Judd Caulfield. Assisted by Twarynski and Owen Lindmark, it marks his tenth goal and 23rd point of the season.

Abbotsford made it 2-2 to open the second period.

Justin Bailey netted the Gulls’ third goal, a power play goal, with assists from Jan Mysak and Nico Myatovic to close out the second period.

The Canucks netted four in the final frame to put the game away, leading the 6-3 score.

The Gulls embark on a road trip this weekend, where they will face off against the Iowa Wild at Wells Fargo Arena starting Friday evening (5 p.m. PDT).
