The San Diego Gulls are prepared for their second consecutive contest against the Abbotsford Canucks tonight at Abbotsford Centre (7 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
Last night, the Gulls gave it their all but were defeated by the Canucks 3-2.
"I thought we competed pretty hard, actually," said assistant coach Kris Sparre. "It’s never easy coming in here, last night, from a travel day, and getting right to it with the pregame skate, especially against a team that competes as hard as they do. I thought our compete was there."
Both of the goals for San Diego were scored by Sam Colangelo, his second multi-goal contest of the season since the Gulls’ home opener game on October 18.
The Gulls are ready to take the results from last night’s matchup and use them to their advantage.
"I think we have to learn from this one, learn from our mistakes and flush it pretty quickly," said Colangelo. "We have a lot of games in a short amount of days, but I think our only focus right now is onto [today]…I think it's good to know that we can play with those teams but ultimately we have to start winning these games."
The Gulls continue their road trip through the end of this week, where they will challenge the Coachella Firebirds this Saturday evening at Acrisure Arena (6 p.m. PST).
