The San Diego Gulls have flown the nest to Abbotsford, where they are set for the first of back-to-back contests tonight (7 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

In their last contest, the Gulls wowed fans with an exciting 5-4 win in overtime against the Ontario Reign. Nikita Nesterenko brought it home with the game-winning fifth goal.

The Gulls’ performance in Ontario is yet another example of the resilience and determination of the team.

"We got so much belief in this group," said Nesterenko. "Everyone's got each other's backs...the whole year, we've showed that we can come back, and we're really resilient group. So, it's a lot of fun playing with these guys, and hopefully this we can use this as momentum going into the rest of the year."

Today, they’re ready to show America’s Finest Fans another three periods of hard work and comradery.

"We are one," said head coach Matt McIlvane. "We call ourselves a brotherhood. As many games as we wish we ended up on the right side, the guys are close. They have a good comradery together…Our ability to respond, come back, and handle adversity is admirable, and I’m really proud of the guys."

The Gulls face the Canucks once more tomorrow night at 7 pm PST.
