Gulls Searching for First Win on Home Ice in 2024-25

In a journey to find some early consistency, the San Diego Gulls are looking to get back on track tonight against the Abbotsford Canucks (5 p.m. PST; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).
Last night, the Gulls couldn’t figure out how to get the job done offensively, scoring just once off a Roland McKeown point shot.
"We have to be a little bit more opportunistic," McKewon said. "We had our chances, but then you got to bury them… We got to be more dynamic."
Despite the lack of offense, a few standouts shined bright for San Diego, including the penalty kill units (5-for-5) and goaltender Calle Clang (25-of-27 saves).
"[Calle was] rock solid," head coach Matt McIlvane said after last night’s game. "I thought he did a heck of a job for us and he’s the backstop we needed to give us a chance today."
Tonight marks San Diego’s fourth game against the Canucks on the young season. So far, the Gulls have gone 1-2-0-0 against Abbotsford with all games coming within the last two weeks.
Oscar Dansk is in line to get the start tonight. Last time out against the Canucks, he was lights out, stopping all but one shot in a 4-1 win on Oct. 26.
The Gulls will get some time to recharge following tonight with five days off before heading to Tucson to face the Roadrunners for the first time this season over the weekend.
