Ducks Recall Goalie Kevin Boyle
Feb 9, 2019The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Kevin Boyle from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Boyle, 26 (5/30/92), has gone 19-7-1 with a 2.72 goals-against average (GAA) and .909 save percentage (SV%) in 30 games this season with San Diego. At the time of his recall, Boyle ranked second among AHL goaltenders in wins and had won 14 of his last 17 starts (14-2-1, 2.30 GAA, .917 SV%).
Signed as a free agent on Mar. 30, 2016, Boyle has posted a 48-25-7 record with two shutouts, a 2.59 GAA and .918 SV% in 84 career AHL games with San Diego. The 6-1, 197-pound goaltender finished the 2017-18 AHL season ranked second among rookie goaltenders in SV% (.921), fifth in wins (19) and sixth in GAA (2.66).
