It was a blink of an eye, but Sam Colangelo made the most of his All-Star Classic experience in Coachella Valley.
Colangelo collected an assist in three games at the banner All-Star Classic Monday night, his first experience at the AHL crown jewel event of the season.
"It was a lot of fun," Colangelo said. "Probably didn't have my best performance I've ever had, but yeah, it was a really fun event. A lot of great fans came out and had a lot of fun with it."
Colangelo got to see first-hand some of the best players the league has to offer. While the Gulls have faced two out-of-division opponents this season, Colangelo got to see what the rest of the Atlantic, Central and North divisions had to offer alongside some familiar faces from the Pacific..
"It's a little different," Colangelo said. "Playing with the guys that you're going against a lot throughout the year. So try to put the emotions from those games to the side, and just have a good time. Enjoy the weekend with the guys."
Now headed back to San Diego, Colangelo will reset with his final few days of the break before heading back to Pechanga Arena.
"Hopefully I'm a lot better in our next Gulls game than than I was tonight," Colangelo said. "But yeah, it was a lot of fun. And I'm sure I have some good stories to tell the guys when I get back."
