Colangelo Ready for All-Star Classic

Sam Colangelo is ready for action at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Spotlight 29 Casino (6 p.m. PST; TV: NHL Network & AHLTV on FloHockey).

After participating in four events in last night's skills challenge, Colangelo is primed for the bright lights of tonight. Colangelo and the Pacific Division will face each of the other three divisions in a round-robin tournament.

"I think it will be fun," Colangelo said. "3-on-3 is usually pretty fun, a lot of scoring and lots of goals."

Even with friends on the opposite benches, it's all business for Sam tonight as he aims to help the Pacific division take the title for the third consecutive season.

"I'd love to get on the board, but just going to go out there, have fun and enjoy the experience," Colangelo said.

Colangelo isn't the only familiar face Gulls fans will see tonight. Former Gulls and now Charlotte Checkers defenseman Trevor Carrick will represent the Atlantic division, and had some kind words to say about seeing America's Finest Fans again.

"It was cool," Carrick said. "There was a lot of San Diego fans [at the Skills Competition] and it was nice catching up with them. I know San Diego, they got a great fan base there and it was cool to see them make the trip down."
