The Gulls are keen on tonight’s matchup against the Bakersfield Condors for Country Night at Pechanga Arena (7 p.m. PT; TV: AHLTV on FloHockey; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).

The Gulls’ win on Wednesday against the San Jose Barracuda broke their streak of bad luck. After a tie game broke out into a shootout, Nathan Gaucher took the win for his team in the 12th round with his first career shootout goal.

"We just build off the things we’ve been doing good," Gaucher said. "It’s a good feeling, we know how to win, we know what we do well, so we just have to it consistently and get some wins."

Wednesday’s game marked the longest shootout in Gulls history that resulted in a victory and second-longest in the team’s AHL history.

"Really, all the ingredients you would need to win a hockey game were there...it [was] a good night for us," said assistant coach Kris Sparre

San Diego and Bakersfield have met twice previously this season. San Diego has earned standing points in both games so far, including a 3-2 OT win Oct. 19 and an 8-7 SO loss Nov. 16.

San Diego is planning on taking this momentum into an action-packed month, where they will play eight more games before Christmas.

Tonight marks the first contest of the Gulls four-game homestand. Tomorrow night they will face rival Ontario Reign at 6 pm PST.
